About Hanzi Tools

Hanzi Tools is for the small jobs that come up while learning Chinese: understanding a message, checking a character, printing a practice sheet or finding a family term.

Start with your own words. The reader connects to a vocabulary list, and that list can become review cards or writing practice. Travel and everyday tools help you prepare something you can actually say or show someone.

How the site works

Dictionary lookup, pinyin, conversion and writing tools use reference data and language libraries. The optional writing assistant uses DeepSeek and is labelled where you use it. The assistant can make mistakes and has a daily allowance.

There is no learner account. Saved vocabulary and practice records stay in your browser. Export them before moving to another device.
